Palm Sunday Breakfast Fundraiser

This Sunday, March 29th, from 8:00-11:00am the Soul Garage Student Ministry will be cooking a French Toast breakfast for the Maranatha EFC congregation.  All proceeds will go to offset the cost of our summer missions trip to Chicago to partner with Christ Our Savior Church in running an outreach focused VBS July 10-18, 2015.  Student volunteers are needed to help setup, cook, serve, and clean up.   In addition to french toast, we will be serving sausage, quiche lorraine, yogurt & berries, fresh fruit, coffee, juice.  There will be several gluten-free options available.

Volunteer Shifts

  • Shift 1: 7:00am-8:45am
  • Shift 2: 8:30am-10:15am
  • Shift 3: 10:00am-11:45pm

7th-12th grade students are asked to come for one or more shift.  Report to the kitchen or the Gathering Place when you arrive for your assignment.  Looking forward to having you help out as we serve the rest of the church.

Open Mic Night Mar 25

Open Mic

Based on feedback we received from our last Open Mic Night in January, we are doing it again March 25th. During youth group this week, a significant portion of the night is reserved for youth to share with one another what God is doing in your life.

  • What did God teach you through our study of 1 John or through the 30 Hour Famine or the concert and speaker at Cameron Middle School last Wednesday?
  • What is a challenge God has brought you through this year?
  • How do you want to grow closer to God in the coming months?
  • What ideas do you have on how the Soul Garage can become the most loving youth group in Wisconsin?

Come prepared to share a response to one of those questions with others this Wednesday, March 25th at the Soul Garage for our Open Mic Night.  Small Groups run from 6:00-7:00pm.  Youth group will run from 7:00-9:00pm.

This will be a special joint youth group with junior high and senior high together for the night.

A Night To Remember

Next Wednesday, March 18th, the Soul Garage will meet at the Cameron Middle School at 6:30pm for a concert and Christian speaker.  We will NOT be meeting at the Soul Garage at all on the 18th!  Parents, please drop off your youth and pick them up from the Cameron Middle School.  The evening is scheduled to start at 6:30pm and end between 9 and 9:15pm.  If you need to pick up your teens before that time, please just let me know.  If I don’t hear from a parent, I will expect youth to stay the entire time.

This is a great opportunity for youth to invite their friends for some great music and a powerful speaker.  Please join us in praying for God to move in the hearts of the youth that attend!

For more information, check out their promo video below or the TUF Ministry Facebook page.  If you are planning to attend and use Facebook, please find the Facebook event called A Night to Remember and RSVP that you are attending.

Wrapping Up 1 John

Tonight in the Soul Garage, we will be wrapping up our 8 week teaching series that has taken us through the book of 1 John.  John likely spent his teen years walking with Jesus, eating food with him, learning directly from him and watching him suffer and die before reuniting with him after Jesus rose from the dead.  We have been reflecting on John’s call to love one another and what it would look like for the Soul Garage to become the most loving youth group in all of Wisconsin.

Come join us tonight as we wrap up this great study from 1 John.

Reminder: Next Wednesday, March 18th, we will NOT meet at the Soul Garage, but instead, we will meet at 6:30pm at the Cameron Middle School for a great concert and speaker.  Be sure to invite a few friends so they can hear the gospel message after enjoying some great music.
